If so, maybe it doesn't include the LightScribe section of the program. Hope this helps.
Hello, I just took a LightScribe burner out of one computer and put it in my newer computer. Before doing that however I upgraded to Windows 10 so now I need help finding a Windows 10 compatible LightScribe program hopefully free.
I tried the LightScribe Simple Labler from here as it claims it's compatible with Windows 10 however the software isn't good at all for what I want it to do. I can't add my own customization to it, I can't add my own pictures. The template labler that is available on that same page is not Windows 10 compatible.
Does anyone know where I can get free LightScribe program for Windows 10 that has better customization?.Post moved by the moderator to the appropriate forum category. Regards Jayant Gupta - Microsoft Support Engineer. The replies above do not answer even the question originally asked, much less my own question: Does anyone know where I can get free LightScribe program for Windows 10?
I have a burner, but the software died with the motherboard in my old computer. As it stands, I have a nice CD/DVD burner, but no LightScribe capability. The manufacturer, LG, says the program that died with the old computer, was a freebie, short-term trial (it lasted for years!); they do not supply such programs; they are available only from third party sources. I have already had to clean out malware in my own internet search and I do not wish to do that again.
So MY QUESTION REMAINS this and only this: Does anyone know where I can get free LightScribe program for Windows 10? LightScribe.com was taken down by HP in December 2013, but you can go to I am running Windows 10 Pro.You will need,. I have not had any luck with. SURETHING LABELER 5 - 15 DAY TRIAL VERSION worked great and you can add background templates which can be downloaded ANytime you can not find an old site try using web.archives.org, the chache everything.
Any problems let me know. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone, but non worked. The Lightscribe.com software will provide only a circular four or five-word title and no more. Maybe it will allow listing the contents, but there is no provision for graphics, I used Roxio NXT whatever and finally got some results.
The download/installation was faulty and did not work; if you have that problem, remove the program and try installing again. The whole story is too traumatic to repeat, but eventually it worked. Some of the time.
I finally printed 30+ labels of the same design and am about to attempt another set. The problems with Roxio eventually resolved enough to work by re-installing the download. As for Lightscribe softaware.com, I have it on my computer but I do not think it does anything to enhance Roxio. Someone needs to go back to the script for Roxio NXT and correct the glitches or make a new program.
Otherwise, Lightscribe is out of business for lack of decent programs to make it work. Perhaps LG could offer their original freebie as a good starting point. If you are using Lightscribe, good luck! In a week or two you may be able to get all your printing done! As far as I am concerned, this string is complete, unless someone has better ideas about how to use the invention.
Happy New Year, 2016! Ok so I got LightScribe to work perfect, including template labeler. Here are the steps: 1. Download LightScribe System Software (LSS), this will install in Windows 10.
Download Template Labeler and save it someplace. Download and install Super Orca via. Open the%temp% directory on your computer (leave it open, good idea is to sort by date). Run LightScribeTemplateLabeler1.18.27.10.exe, you will receive an error that the OS is invalid, do not click anything at this point. Leave the error on the screen.
Go to the window with the%temp% directory open, locate the folder that shows that it was modified at that time. Within the folder copy 'LightScribe Template Labeler.msi' to a working folder like your desktop. Go ahead and hit OK or Close on the error from #6 above. Now open Super Orca and go to 'File', 'Open.' , locate the 'LightScribe Template Labeler.msi' in the working folder you copied it to. Select it and hit 'Open.' Once open in Super Orca, scroll down the left column until you see 'LaunchCondition' and select it.
In the right hand pane you will see three lines, the line beginning with ((VersionNT=500) is the one you need to edit. Double click on it.
In the edit window, delete the entire contents of the line and replace it with the following: ( (VersionNT=500) OR (VersionNT=501) OR (VersionNT=502) OR (VersionNT = 600) OR (VersionNT = 601) OR (VersionNT = 602) OR (VersionNT = 603) OR Installed ) 14. Within Super Orca, go to 'File', 'Save As.' And save the new MSI somewhere. Now run the new MSI your created. This will now install LightScribe Template Labeler.
Many thanks for the note. Glad to learn that LightScribe Template Labeler exists and works, however clumsily for Windows 10.
Will they every update it for Windows 10? I finally persuaded Roxio NXT to work. Can't say I am fully satisfied, in that I usually have to close and start over so that it will do a full label instead of the narrow margin circle.
Thanks for all the help and the time spent to explain the process, but I consider the matter closed. I will keep the links and check from time to time to see if there are updates for W 10. I was installing LightScribe today on a Windows 10 PC and have already labeled some DVD's without generating a new installer file. Find following software in the web or on the service disc of your LightScribe CD/DVD burner. LIGHTSCRIBE SYSTEM SOFTWARE (LSS) - will install with windows 10 (maybe try as admin or with compatibility settings) LIGHTSCRIBE SIMPLE LABELER- will install with windows 10 (maybe try as admin or with compatibility settings) LIGHTSCRIBE TEMPLATE LABELER- don't try to use this on a windows 10 PC - will not work ('OS is invalid') 2.
Install LightScribe Template Labeler on a Windows 7 machine (offices often have such PCs - or a non-updated PC of a friend). Copy the directory 'LightScribe Template Labeler' from the programs (x86) folder of this windows 7 PC to an USB stick 4. Copy that folder from the USB key to the programs (x86) directory of your windows 10 PC 5. Run 'TemplateLabeler.exe'. PS: don't forget to backup that folder since windows 7 will not be there forever.
